My journey in the field of mental health began with a deep desire to understand the complexities of human behavior and to help others navigate life's most difficult experiences.
Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of serving children, adolescents, adults, and families across a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric care, residential treatment for adolescent survivors of human trafficking, the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, higher education, and private practice. These experiences have shaped my understanding of trauma, resilience, and the importance of providing compassionate, evidence-based care.
As my clinical experience grew, so did my passion for helping individuals heal from trauma. That passion led me to specialize in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and to expand my work beyond the therapy room into counselor education, professional training, clinical supervision, and organizational consultation.
Today, my work is centered on advancing trauma-informed practice through clinical care, professional education, forensic mental health services, research, and leadership. Whether I am working with a client, mentoring a clinician, teaching future counselors, or providing objective evaluations, my commitment remains the same, to promote excellence, strengthen systems, and create opportunities for meaningful and lasting change.
